The Nathaniel Cade Vampire Thrillers

This series of books are real delight if your thing is political espionage.

Nathaniel Cade was made a Vampire when he was a sailor in the years after the Civil War. Since, he has been in the service of the President of the United States, sworn to defend the president and the US from all threats, natural and supernatural.

The first book, Blood Oath has Nathaniel running up against Dr. Frankenstein. He is endeavoring to create an army of monsters to wage war against the United States. Nathaniel does not drink human blood, but animal blood and he is very dedicated to his job. What I like the most about these stories is the little things the author does to incorporate true government conspiracy theories and little odd tids about things like Area 51 and what lies beneath the Smithsonian Institution, and all the black ops and spy vs spy stuff you can shake a stick at. He is James Bond with fangs.

The second book, The President's Vampire, is concerning a terrorist plot using mutated snake headed creatures to use as weapons of mass destruction....Very cool, so give it a whirl....

The next book, Red, White and Blood is a book about Nathaniel looking for a serial killer.....
