Season Seven Epi One Jesus Gonna Be There

Okay, so HBO is not helping us out with an official synopsis, so here it goes.

The season opener begins pretty much as we left off. The HepV vampires are converging on Bellefleur's and the meet and greet party between the healthy vampires and the healthy humans. A lot of folks get killed and some of the Hep V vampires meet their demise. Tara tries her best to protect her mother and ends up being killed.

During the melee Sam's pregnant girl Nichole has been taken along with Arlene and Holly and Jane Bodehouse and Kevin, the deputy, and been locked in the basement of Fangtasia which is now deserted and being used as a feeding station and everyone goes to look for them, including Sam and Alcide, who abandoned Sookie to go with him.

Sookie and the survivors along with Bill and James are in the bar and Willa gives Lettie Mae her blood to heal and she leaves with Rev. Daniels to be their protector. When Sam and Alcide returns, Sam is seen shifting back to a human by one of the townspeople who thinks that this was all a really bad idea. Sookie is being bombarded with people's thoughts, including Alcides when he wonders how she could love the dead and how they could have left Bon Temps a long time ago but she would not leave. This pisses Sookie off so she heads home alone on foot.

In the meantime, Jessica is standing outside the Bellefleurs guarding Adeline when Andy runs out and says the mixer has been attacked and as a mean little jab mentions that Tara has bought the farm. This of course hurts Jessica. She calls James, her vampire boyfriend from vampire camp and checks on him. Adeline opens a window to talk to talk to Jessica and she apologizes for Tara's death but says that she is still afraid of Jessica but then they start to talk about boyfriends and she tells Jessica that she likes Wade Cleary, Holly's son.

Back at Bellefleurs, Bill explains the Hep V vampires are likely nesting somewhere and that is the likely place the people they took would be. He and Andy say they will go and check the abandoned slaughter house, and Jason and Violet, whom he met at vampire camp, are to go and check out an abandoned house in town. Alcide starts calling Sookie to see where she is, since she is no longer at the bar.

As Sookie walks home, she trips on the path and sees the body of a human woman. She gets up and her phone begins to ring off the hook. She looks and sees it is Alcide so she throws her phone away.

Lafayette is escorted home by James. James tells him about being a draft dodger during the Vietnam War and he knew his best friend had been killed and he went to see him and his best friend's dad beat the hell out of him and a vampire found him and took pity on him and made him a vampire. He explains to Lafayette that death, Tara's death, his friend's death, no one's death really means much because the universe is not built for the needs of the individual soul. Lafayette confesses that he is actually relieved Tara was dead because he had already grieved her when she died the first time. He feeds James.

Somewhere in Morocco, Pam is tracking Eric and she is playing Russian Roulette vampire style. When she wins, she is given information about a man who can tell her where her maker is. He gives her a hand drawn map of somewhere in Germany, near the Rhine. Which she cannot believe he would go for some reason.

Willa in the meantime is at Rev. Daniels house and Lettie Mae is grieving and she says she can see Tara and she not going to heaven. Rev. Daniels finally calms Lettie Mae and Willa confesses she has no where to go, that she was rooming with Tara, but now she is dead, she doesn't have the heart to go back to where they were staying. Rev. Daniels lets her stay in the church basement.

Jason and Violet get to the house and see there are already humans there, led by the guy who saw Sam change back. They argue about Jason and Violet and Violet basically lets her vampire instincts take control and she embarrasses Jason. As they drive down the highway, Jason lets loose and tells her that he is sick and tired of her not letting him have sex with her and her feeding off him every night, not wanting to let him go to work and being a pain in the ass. He says he is gonna f*ck her and she is gonna f*ck him back and they end up doing it on the hood of the truck.

Back at Fangtasia, Holly is trying to keep everyone calm, assured that they will be rescued. A vampire comes down and grabs Kevin and begins to violently feed off him.

Bill and Andy pull up to the slaughter house and encounters the same group that was at the abandoned house where Jason and Violet were. They also discover a dead larder of humans the vampires had kept there. The citizens hold a gun on Bill but Andy says Bill has done him wrong and if anyone gets to kill him he should. They give him the pistol and he turns it on them and he and Bill manage to escape. When Bill tries to thank him, Andy says there is nothing Bill can do make things right.

Alcide finally returns to Sookie's and finds her there. She tells tells him that she could hear his thoughts, then tells him Tara is dead. He gets defensive because she is in his mind and she says this is just the way it is for her, that this is her curse. She tells him she needs to be alone for a while and he goes to bed without her. She joins him later and they begin to make love.

Back at the Bellefleur's, a Hep V vampire has smelled Adeline and he wants her but Jessica hold him off till near dawn. She has Adeline drink some of her blood so she can always find her. When the dawn is too close, she invites Jessica in who is at first turned on by Adeline's blood but lets her go to run to the attic to get away from the sun. The Hep V vampire greets the sun.

The next day, the town meets at the church. Sookie tries to comfort Lettie Mae who tells her she hates her and blames her for Tara's death and being made a vampire. As Sookie turns to leave, she hears the thoughts of the congregation and she turns and tells them that she can hear them, and at least Lettie Mae has the courage to say things to her face. She tells them that like it or not, she knows more about vampires than anyone in the room, and while she can't help them bring back the ones that are lost, she can help them find where the kidnapped ones are.

Well, first and foremost, Jesus might be there, but Eric wasn't, and thought I knew he wouldn't be, I wished he was. I missed his presence.
Where is he? Well apparently he is not on the windswept mountaintops of Sweden...Pam is on her way...well that would be tellin if you have not seen the epi.

I liked how solid the episode felt. I was disappointed that the episode was a full ten minutes short, I hated that our newest vamp bit the dust...and again, I will wait for those of you who have not seen the epi before I get into it.

One of the things I think I could have done without is Jason and Violet...and if you saw you know what I meant. If you didn't, well see it as soon as possible and let me know what you thought.

I am confused by the Hep V Vamps choice of nest...I get the feeling they had sets they needed to use and just used that set....I felt a little violated...It was one of my fave places in the world.

Over all, the epi pulled us right back in, and though some parts was just absolutely sad for me, I am excited to see the next epi....

And never fear, Pam will find Eric. And shame on you Alcide for what you thought about Sookie....Shame on you....
