I just got through reading Guillermo Del Toro's Strain, about Vampires.
To tell you the truth, I am not a real fan of science fictiony Vampires, and this is what these guys are. The story revolves around a fellow called Ephraim who is a scientist for the CDC and he is called to JFK to investigate the deaths of passengers from a flight that came from Germany. They discover four survivors who later seem to die but then disappear from the morgue, along with everyone else on the flight....
These guys are not your traditional Vampires. They are space Vampires and are pretty disgusting. But I guess they would appeal to male readers more so than the female ones because they don't have to deal with romance and all of that. So, if you like your Vampires on the gruesome side, this is the book for you. Give it a whirl...contact me if you can't find it....
