Re: Oz the Great and Powerful
Hey there peeps, so I went to see Oz the Great and Powerful.
It is a pretty good movie, but not the same charm as the classic though it hints at how the Scarecrow came to be and why the lion is cowardly, but the witches are there, and the munchkins are there and we find out how and why they made the Wizard a face in a plume smoke.
The Wizard is cast as an old con man with only a little magik in his repertoire and a whole lot of nerve to pull it off. He is also something of a ladies man with the morals of an alley cat in matters of the heart. The only thing I would recommend to change about the movie is all the close ups of James Franco's face, which isn't a bad face, but softens the impact of seeing his face bigger than life on the pillar of smoke.
Grown ups may be a little bored with the movie but kids love it. I recommend, however that you save your money and buy it as a video and show both movies back to back...that will make a real treat.... Good but not great....
